1. Get The Best Soil
If you are planting grass seed, make sure that you get your soil from a reputable nursery. If you choose a cheaper option, you may find that it contains weed seeds and bits of root. Topsoil is very important, and it’s worth spending money on it if you want a good result. A healthy lawn is your best defence against aggressive weeds.
2. Remove Existing Weeds
Small patches of weeds can be pulled or dug out. For larger areas; don’t fret. Once your lawn is healthy, these areas will be taken care of. It’s a tough and time-consuming job, but it’s the only way to prevent new weeds from sprouting and achieve that weed-free lawn you desire.

3. Get To The Root Of It
To ensure that weeds don’t return, remove them by their root systems. Invest in a good weed-pulling tool such as a weeding trowel to make your life easier and to make the job a little quicker. If the roots stay behind, it won’t be long before there’s another weed popping up in its place.
4. Keep Your Lawn Neat
Mow your grass, but don’t make it too short as this will make it more difficult to resist weeds. Keep your lawnmower blades sharp as a clean cut prevents plant disease and insect issues. A lawn that is mowed regularly will also stay healthy for longer.

5. Water It Regularly
Like every other plant in your garden, you have to water your lawn regularly to ensure that it stays healthy. It’s important not to under- or over-water your grass, so if you have trouble remembering, consider installing a sprinkler system with a timer and rain sensor.
Follow these five quick and easy tips and you will have magnificent, weed-free lawn in no time at all.
