With award season in full swing, red-carpet looks are going to be the talk of the town. But this year, or at least at the Golden Globes, splashes of bright colour caught our eye. Reds, pinks, greens and even purples took centre stage.
Margie Robbie’s perfect Barbie look got my full attention, though. In a red-carpet interview with Variety, she broke down her jaw-dropping Armani dress, which brought the iconic 1977 Superstar Barbie look to life.

Jokes on you
We can’t talk about the Golden Globes without bringing up the not-so-funny monologue from host Jo Koy. Comedians have graced the stage at these events for years, often causing a stir, and this year, the world has got its sights on Koy.
His opening monologue and comments weren’t necessarily as offensive as previous comedians’ but his unsavoury comments about the Barbie movie just didn’t land. And, of course, you can’t say much about Taylor Swift without causing waves.
Unfortunately, he seemed to have lost the crowd, causing a relatively awkward atmosphere during the show.

The drama
Aside from awkward humour, there seems to have been some drama that set tongues wagging this year.
Besties Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift can be seen chatting during the event. But their animated, reactionary faces looked like they were sharing some juicy gossip. Social media become a buzz almost immediately with speculation.
Several people commented that Timothée Chalamet snubbed Gomez during the event due to some beef between her and Kylie Jenner.

Luckily though, Gomez quickly cleared the air. She made it clear in an Instagram comment that she was not gossiping about Chalamet and Jenner. Instead, she was simply spilling the tea on two friends.
