Infamous celebrity gossip blogger Musa Khawula reportedly appeared at the Vredenburg Magistrate court in the Western Cape on a murder case on Monday, leading many locals to wonder what on Earth is going on.
Khawula is believed to be accused of stabbing and killing Wandile Khambule in March this year following a fight between the two.
This followed another altercation the gossip blogger had been in, as some might recall his fight with Moshe Ndiki.
In the trail, Khwula was represented by Legal Aid, but per IOL, Khawula narrowly missed arrest after the magistrate had to withdraw a warrant of his arrest which was issued because he did not show up on time.
Khawula admitted to stabbing and killing Khambule in self-defence after a quurrel between the two outside Khambule’s home, the report added.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Khawula said in a statement that he was in a relationship with Khambule when the incident happened.
Sunday World reported that Khambule’s girlfriend, Sweetness Jaftha, alleged that the accused showed up at her residence on March 4 and demanded to see Khambule.
The report adds that Jaftha claimed Khambule refused to speak to the accused, stating he was not romantically interested in him before she asked both of them to go speak outside.
In less than five seconds after the two went out, the report claimed Jaftha “heard people screaming ‘don’t stab him’”.
“When I checked to see what was happening outside, I saw Khawula running after Khambule with a big knife [and] stabbing him, he fell in front of my brother’s bakkie. I then asked one of my friends to go [and] try to stop what was happening. He stabbed him in his chest and at the back,” the report quoted Jaftha as saying.
According to National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila the case will be back in court on October 19 to allow for a defence consultation, per kaya959.
Khawula will remain free on bail until his next appearance.
