Tyla Seethal, South Africa’s Grammy-winning sensation, landed back home on Saturday with a spirited hero’s welcome from fans, friends and family at Johannesburg’s OR Thambo International Airport.
On Saturday, Tyla touched back down on South African soil, clutching her Grammy as she made her way through OR Thambo’s international arrivals. The terminal bustled with supporters who were itching to get a glimpse of the proudly South African star and her coveted award.

On her welcomed arrival, Tyla graced fans with photo-ops, chatted to the media about her recent win and her relief to be back home.
She also shared a moment with SA’s Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Zizi Kodwa, in a video that has since gone viral on X, amassing over 4.7 million views.
In the video, Tyla and Kodwa are caught in a photo-op together. After sharing an inaudible exchange about the Grammy she had been cluthing, Tyla appears to raise her grammy into the air when the minister attempts to lay his hands on the award:

As per a quote published by News24, Sharleen, Tyla’s mother, beamed with pride as she praised the accomplishments of her 22-year-old Grammy-winning daughter:
“From then on, we knew she knows what she’s got going. She’s an individual and her own person. She’s doing what she loves.”
“There was never a doubt in terms of what she wanted. Tyla has always been an overachiever.” added Tyla’s father.
Piling on to her recent achievements, Seethal released her anticipated debut album, Tyla, in March, and racked in another award from SA Style Awards for Most Stylish Performing Artist in Music, which was accepted on behalf of the star by her sister, Sydney.
