The body of popular Johannesburg-based chef, Thembekile Letlape, owner of The Pastry Princess, was found at her boyfriend Sibusiso Zitha’s home on Thursday 30 May.
A spokesperson for the family told News24 that Letlape’s body was discovered by her father, after the late pastry chef’s mother received a distressing text message from her daughter.
As per reports, Dr Kgosi Letlape, former South African Medical Association chairperson and father of the deceased, found his daughter’s lifeless body in her boyfriend Sibusiso Zitha’s Fourways home on Thursday.
After allegedly spending days on the run, Zitha handed himself over to police on Saturday 1 June.
Zitha, who was identified as a suspect after preliminary investigation, made a first appearance at the Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday 3 June, where he was charged. The case was postponed to Friday for bail.
As per News24, two others – a male and female – were also arrested on Sunday in connection with the case.
