The Hollywood award season started with a bang last night with a star-studded list of the Golden Globes 2017 winners!
The Golden Globes is the perfect way to introduce the red carpet season as it brings together the best of the best from big screen films and binge-worthy TV shows.
We decided to shine a light on our favourite actresses that took home a Golden Globe for their outstanding performances:
Meryl Streep
Everyone’s favourite leading lady was awarded the Cecil B. De Mille Award which honours a lifetime achievement in the film industry.
However, instead of reminiscing about past performances, she shared some strong words for Donald Trump.
Emma Stone
Emma took home the best actress globe (Film -Comedy/Musical) for her role in La La Land. The highly praised film is definitely a strong Oscars contender taking home all 7 awards it was nominated for last night.
Viola Davis
Viola gave another inspiring acceptance speech when she won best supporting actress (Film) for Fences which was directed by another heavy-hitter Denzel Washington.

Isabelle Huppert
French actress Isabelle gave a stellar performance in Elle, a foreign film about a woman trying to track down the man who raped her. Deservingly, she was awarded best actress (Film – Drama).

Everyone can’t stop talking about Netflix’s The Crown which follows the life of Queen Elizabeth II in her younger days. Claire Foy who plays Queen Elizabeth II was awarded a golden globe (TV- Drama) for her portrayal.
