This has been a year of ups and downs, but the one thing we can always count on to lift our spirits is a Janice Honeyman panto.

This year’s cast is bursting with local talent, including Izak Davel of Isidingo fame as Robin Hood; Carmen Pretorius (The Sound of Music, Jersey Boys) as Maid Marian; Kate Normington as Silly Sylviana, the spirit of the forest; the legendary Desmond Dube as Friar Tuck; and the hilarious Graham Hopkins as Norman the Nasty, Sheriff of Nottingham.
The production is a brilliant mash-up of Robin Hood and Hansel and Gretel, incorporating Honeyman’s signature humour and on-point satire. You get the sense she’s been gathering these quips all year long, right up until the very latest news headline before the opening show.
