The breath-taking Munro Boutique Hotel in Houghton was the place to be today as DSTV Travel Channel launched its brand new proudly South African reality series – Durban Beach Rescue.
This exclusive reveal was limited to a few VIP guests and a select number of the media. Prestigious guests from near and far – including the senior members of the Travel Chanel from the UK.
Set in Durban’s breath-taking beaches, this new series promises to be a hit.
The story line follows the lives of various lifeguards across Durban’s finest beach shores during the 2014 December holiday peak time.
Cameras capture the stories of lifeguards across the numerous Durban beaches like Sihle Xaba at Battery Beach, Clint van der Merwe at the Durban beachfront, the senior lifeguard Mxolisi Luthuli at Durban’s demanding and most dangerous beach, The Wedge; and Azanda Dlamini who is experiencing her first season as a trainee lifeguard on Battery Beach.
When talking about the series, director Eddie Edward said viewers could look forward to amazing stories told by dynamic characters in one of the greatest locations in South Africa. Edward emphasized the importance of telling local stories to an international audience.
