The message was accompanied by a candid, black-and-white photograph of the princess, taken last summer in Windsor by photographer Matt Porteous. In the relaxed shot, Kate is seen smiling warmly, dressed casually in jeans and a white shirt, reflecting the couple’s preference for informal, heartfelt images over traditional royal portraits.
This year’s birthday celebrations mark another milestone for Princess Kate, who has returned to her royal duties after undergoing preventative chemotherapy. Diagnosed with cancer last year, the princess has been widely praised for her grace and strength during a challenging period for the royal family.
The Royal Family’s official social media account also extended birthday wishes, sharing a photo of Kate greeting well-wishers on Christmas Day in Sandringham. “Happy Birthday to The Princess of Wales!” read the post.

Kate is expected to celebrate her birthday privately at home in Windsor, surrounded by William and their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The Prince of Wales has previously described the past year as one of the most difficult in his life, with both his wife and his father, King Charles, facing health battles. Despite these challenges, the couple has continued to focus on their family and royal duties, embodying the message Kate shared in a recent Christmas card video: “Out of darkness can come light.”
