The seasons are changing and although Cape Town’s weather feels like we’ve skipped a season, it is still Autumn. If you’re like me, I’m always looking to experiment with new nail designs and colours and season changes are the easiest way to do so.
Here are some of our favourite Autumn nail colours to try:
Deep Emerald Green
Green is one colour I haven’t experimented with at all and there are so many shades of green that work for Autumn. Emerald green reminds us of forests and rich foliage and can be neutral enough to go with almost any outfit.
Matte Green
Matte green is one colour I’m really looking forward to trying. Matte green is perfect for the transition season and feels moody and perfect for Autumn.
Forest Green
Another shade of green that is so fitting. Forest green is crisp and fresh and ideal for the change of season.
Black
While black is quite bold, it is timeless and classic. If you’re not as bold and dramatic for long black nails, keep them short and perhaps try the almond-shaped nails with a black coat.
Nude
Nudes are perfect for any and all seasons and are ideal for people who don’t want to attract attention to their hands and aren’t ready for bold colours. There are numerous shades that could work for you.
Brown clay
Brown is probably the colour of the season as it is a must for Autumn, as it symbolizes the late Autumn leaves.

Strawberry Red
Red is another all-rounder shade, but strawberry red is a perfect pop of colour for the colder seasons when you are wearing more dull and moody colours.
Orange
Orange is another colour that is so spot-on for Autumn, as it is symbolic of the changing colours of the leaves during Autumn.
Plum
Plum is my personal favourite and as much as I love summer, a part of me always misses the colder days just to get a lick of this colour on my nails again.
Mauve
Mauve is another personal favourite. It’s light enough to give the nude effect while still maintaining the Autumn feel.
