Alana Hadid, older sister of iconic models Bella and Gigi, recently lit up Copenhagen Fashion Week with an unexpected and sensational runway debut…at 40!

Sharing her initial motive for appearing at Copenhagen’s fashion week, Hadid told Vogue:
“I had decided to come to Copenhagen [as] I love Danish brands.”
The unexpected twist?
“Saks Potts caught wind that I was coming and asked me to walk [their show]; I was incredibly honored.”
Braving the elements on the Copenhagen coastline, Alana served elegance in a cropped beige blazer and a blue sequinned skirt layered over jeans and flip-flops for her first-ever Fashion Week runway look.

“It was raining but it was beautiful: dramatic and pretty epic…” said Hadid in her interview with Vogue.

Alana then went on to graced the runway for Scandinavian fashion brand Munthe, dressed in a sheer embroidered dress and then a a chic leather mini.

“I’m actually so in love with walking runways,” she added.
“It was not something that I came here to do, but it’s been an exciting twist. I hope to come back again and walk more shows.”
Despite the rise of over-40’s gracing the fashion world, not many models first discover their passion for the runway at 40, as Alana has.
“I feel like I’m living my life backwards, I love it,” she quipped, adding, “one of the most beautiful things about Copenhagen Fashion Week is how inclusive it is.”

Off the runway, Alana’s presence at fashion week graced the front rows of Marimekko, Baum und Pferdgarten, and The Garment, with Scandinavian brands like Henrik Vibskov and Ganni resonating with their fearless creativity.
As the curtains drew on Copenhagen Fashion Week, Alana’s plans extend to exploring the city’s vintage treasures and a potential whirl at Tivoli Gardens with her cousin. Speaking on her sisters’ support of her making the runway, Hadid shared:
“We’re excited for each other for everything we do. Obviously they know how exhilarating being on a runway is, so they’re excited for me for sure.”
