Dame Angela Lansbury, the widely loved actress known for her role in Murder, She Wrote amongst numerous others has passed away at 96-years-old.
The British actress, dubbed ‘one of the last surviving stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema’ died in her Los Angeles home according to her family, just a few days shy of her 97th birthday.
Lansbury has long been adored for her roles on both television, and the silver screen; often bringing some of the most renowned literary works, from Agatha Christie’s imaginings to Oscar Wilde’s, to life.
However, it was really theatre that led her to become a household name as her career began to sparkle during the middle of her life. She became the starlet of New York theatre during the late 60s and early 70s, scoring multiple Tony Awards.
She was also three-time Oscar nominee who eventually got her golden honour as a lifetime achievement award in 2013.
And for Disney fans, Lansbury was the voice behind dear Mrs Potts from Beauty & The Beast.
Since the news of her passing, condolences have rushed in for Lansbury.
