Winter can be chilly, but why not warm yourself up with a food and wine festival at the Cape’s French outpost?
Experience the festivities
It’s currently winter in the Cape Winelands, and the annual Bastille festival is just around the corner. If you haven’t had the chance to attend the Franschhoek Bastille Festival before, I highly recommend it. The festival takes place on July 13-14, 2024 in the historic town of Franschhoek.
The town is about to come alive with fresh, warm gourmet food and amazing French wines. This will give all visitors a chance to experience a taste of France in South Africa, where they can wear their French-inspired outfits with pride.
All of the gourmet food will be provided by local restaurants in the Franschhoek area, as a way to support the town’s economy. Get ready for a culinary journey that will transport you straight to the heart of France.
The town offers a vibrant main road filled with lively street entertainment of local drummers, musicians and performance artists. Even though there is much to do in the town. The action all takes place at the festival getting an experience and tasting the wines of more than 25 French-inspired wines.
Remember that the event is French inspired and there will be a dress-up competition where the best French-inspired outfit gets to win a prize.
Whether you want to embody classic French elegance or push the boundaries with chic, let your imagination run wild. The event inspires you to let loose for one weekend. Bring your best quirky France outfit to show.
How to get tickets
Tickets are going live at the end of May 2024, so be ready to get your own as they usually sell out very fast. Visit the Franschhoek Bastille festival website to see when tickets are officially available.
