Reports that doctors are “concerned” about Queen Elizabeth’s health have caused a wave of worries to wash over the United Kingdom.
According to a statement from former prime minister Sir Tony Blair, concern was also rife for Buckingham Palace. As royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell writes, “the statement from Buckingham Palace is significant because it is a contrast to the last couple of months, when Buckingham Palace said as little as possible.”

The Queen (96) has been battling with her health since October last year.
Concerns were raised after she had been seen in public with a cane, something very rare. It was later revealed that she was suffering from “episodic mobility problems” as Buckingham Palace dubbed her condition.
However, things were looking up after she made appearances in Downing Street where she appointed the new UK prime minister, Lizz Truss.
This morning, 8 September, her doctors evaluated that the Queen should remain under medical supervision.
An official statement from Buckingham Palace reads:
“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.
The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”
Balmoral, referencing the Scottish Castle, is the Queen’s go-to summer retreat.
Royal family members continue to travel to the Queen’s beloved spot to remain at her side during the turbulent period.
According to Reuters, heir Prince Charles and Camilla were present, as well as Prince William, Anne, Andrew and Edward.
Reports from a spokesperson share that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will travel to Scotland too.
