If you haven’t personally dealt with an estranged partner willing to say anything to poke and prod at getting a reaction, you’ve probably heard of one.
The internet offers no shortage of estranged partner narratives that more often than not make us say “what on earth did I just read?”
While there are a river of ways to deal with certain out-of-pocket comments – the internet provides myriad creative ways too – Bertia’s response to her estranged husband’s alleged viral claim that she’s homeless takes the cake when it comes to having the final word.
For context, Berita, (the Afro-Soul songstress and SAMA award-winning singer and songwriter) and her husband Nota Baloyi are separated and have been so since earlier this year. Baloyi allegedly claimed that Berita was homeless, to which she responded in true queen fashion.
“I’ve got to say for someone who is apparently ‘homeless’ I’m doing really well’ she commented in a Tweet, accompanied a photo from a beautiful balcony top looking over Johannesburg.
“This is my view of Johannesburg from my apartment. God music and therapy have been my saviour” she added before concluding “this too shall pass.”

Of the alleged harassment from her husband, others have critiqued Baloyi including Poet and activist Ntsiki Mazwai who urged him to stop posting Berita’s private life online and to get therapy.
