And the award goes to… The phrase that will consume our television screens over the next couple of weeks.
Award season is here, and the world is back to what we consider ‘normal.’ This means more celebrities can attend the red carpet ceremonies we all gush over in guilty pleasure. The best part of this, you ask? Without a doubt, the fashion.
This stylist couldn’t wait to see who hit the fashion mark and who missed it—as not everyone can be a winner on the night.
Without further ado:
The night’s belles-of-the-ball
AKA, the ones who hit the red carpet and completely stunned us
As a winner of the night, Ms Angela Basset kept it simple and regal on the carpet. That’s what Golden Globes are about, keeping it elegant and still making a statement. The way the dress cuts her is flattering on the body and this silver shimmer offers perfect amount of glam.
Selena Gomez has come such a long way since her Disney days, and this look pays homage to her gorgeous growth. She’s regaining her confidence in her personal life and it is definitely reflected in all her career moves and style choices. I love that this look is simple at its core with the element of drama on the arm detailing—beauty and grace.
Being recognised by Ryan Murphy for the Golden Globe that she won in 2022 at this year’s ceremony was an incredible moment of the night for Mj Rodriguez and audiences. She’s officially the first trans-woman to win a Golden Globe and by pairing her achievement with this royal blue dream ensemble, Rodriguez really came looking like the star that she is.
Letitia Wright, the Wakanda Forever leading actress came onto the carpet looking nothing short of chic. This is definitely not your typical red carpet style of dress; however, that’s exactly what makes it so unique. Another stunning factor of this dress is the cut on her body, which is perfectly structured and modern.
Other notable favorites
Sometimes it’s easy to get over-ambitious, and this was the case for some of the celebrities that walked the Golden Globes’ carpet. Simply taking a dress straight from the runway does not make it amazing. And sometimes, trying to be too sexy could just end up looking tacky. We still love the risk-takers and appreciate their efforts. As this is the first major red carpet event of the year, there’s still plenty of time for new looks to be tried and tested.
