The trial over Gwyneth Paltrow’s 2016 ski accident has come to a close, and Paltrow has been found not liable for inflicting life-changing injuries sustained by Terry Sanderson, the man who had accused Paltrow of skiing into him at the resort and causing serious injuries.
Mr. Sanderson reportedly said that the jury’s verdict of finding Paltrow not liable was “very disappointing”.
The Jury sided with Paltrow, who laid a countersuit against Mr. Sanderson for $1m (R18,201,640) in damages, plus attorneys’ fees.
As the final verdict was voiced in court, Paltrow stared on expressionless, appearing to nod at the jury’s ruling before walking away. On her way out, Paltrow briefly stopped to share a word with Mr. Sanderson. Sanderson later said that Paltrow wished him well, and he thanked her.
Later, Gwyneth took to her Instagram stories saying:
“I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity.”
She also noted that she was pleased with the jury’s outcome and thanked the judge and jury for “their thoughtfulness in handling this case”.
