Right now, South Africans are divided.
Half are wondering where Trevor Noah’s next adventure lies, after he announced the end of his ‘The Daily Show’ era, and the other half are wondering whether that next adventure is pop icon Dua Lipa.
The internet has been aglow with conspiracy theories surrounding the famous pair after pictures of the two on a dinner outing to Jamaican spot, Miss Lily’s in New York went viral.
Friends can grab dinner, right? Of course, but it was that tender hug and kiss surrounded by streetlights that gave Twitter detectives the bite they needed to start a trending topic, nay, investigation.

As things usually are on Twitter, the comments were nothing short of odd, poetic and all-round chuckle-worthy.
“Trev you are kissing the most beautiful woman in NYC my dude, take that hand out of your pocket and stop hugging her like a youth pastor,” said one.
“Good Luck Trevor Noah, good seven years at The Daily Show after Jon Stewart, Have a good life with Dua Lipa,” another predicted.
“One kiss is all it takes!” however, sang through the comments the most frequently. If you’re a Dua die-hard, you’ll know that the context couldn’t be more on brand given the manifestation of her smash hit.
Does this mean Dua will be venturing to South Africa anytime soon? We’ll wait patiently.
