Easter will look a little different this year thanks to the national lockdown. For one thing, we will be confined to our homes and for another; there are many who will be spending it alone. As such, this is a golden opportunity to pause and reconnect with what is really important to you. Whether you use this weekend to appreciate uninterrupted family time, or to rediscover one of your passions, here are some ways to celebrate Easter during a lockdown.

1. Stage An Egg Hunt
There are some Easter traditions worth maintaining and this is one of them. Fortunately we can still buy chocolate eggs at the shops so be sure to stock up on your next trip. Then get the whole family involved and plan your best egg hunt yet. Do it indoors to make things a little different this year. It will keep everyone busy for a few hours if you do it right.
2. Rediscover Your Passion For Cooking
There may be fewer people at your Easter lunch this year but that’s no reason to skip the celebration. Find a dish that inspires you and treat yourself and your housemates. You can even schedule a video call with some of your friends and family so you can eat your meals together. Revisit an old favourite or choose from one of our delicious Easter recipes.

3. Take It Slow
Now is the ideal time to rediscover the joys of simplicity. A long, leisurely bath, curling up with a good book, or building a puzzle are just some of the ways you can spend your Easter weekend. This is the time to reboot and listen to what your body (and soul) needs.
4. Games Night
Need more stimulation? Celebrate Easter by organising a virtual game night with friends over video call. Make it a weekly tradition and thrash your friends at a game of cards, trivia, or poker. It will keep your mind active and give you something to look forward to during the week.

5. Focus On Yourself
Be kind to yourself during these unprecedented times. Cover your bed in your most luxurious bedding and lie in over the weekend without feeling guilty. Pamper yourself with a spa-style bath and use your favourite soaps and creams. Pick up on an old craft project and spend a few hours on it. You don’t know when you’ll have the opportunity again.
