If you aren’t in the mood to head over to the bar, we’ll teach you how to make one at home!
How to make the perfect Margarita cocktail
Ingredients:
- 50ml tequila (blanco or reposado for a smoother taste)
- 25ml freshly squeezed lime juice
- 20ml orange liqueur (triple sec or Cointreau)
- 10ml oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Salt for rimming the glass
- Lime wheel for garnish
- Ice
Instructions:
- Rim the glass: Begin by running a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and then dip the rim into a plate of salt, creating a salted rim.
- Shake it up: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill and mix the ingredients.
- Strain and serve: Strain the mixture into the salt-rimmed glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim.
- Enjoy: Sip and savour the well-balanced flavours of tangy lime, smooth tequila, and the sweet hint of orange liqueur. Adjust the simple syrup to your taste preference – some like it sweeter, while others prefer a more tart profile.
