On Friday last week, Kate Middleton revealed the unfortunate news that she had been diagnosed with cancer, following a major abdominal surgery in January earlier this year.
Over the weekend, support from all corners of the globe streamed through for The Princess and Prince of Wales, after Kate Middleton released a video message, revealing her diagnosis of cancer.
Following the video, the public’s well wishes streamed in, and the support was warmly accepted by Kate and William with gratitude.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson issued a statement on behalf of the royal couple, thanking the public for rallying behind the royal couple in this trying time. The statement read:
“The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message,” adding that Kate and William “are extremely moved by the public’s warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time.”
The Princess of Wales has not publicly confirmed what kind of cancer she’s battling, however, the diagnosis appears to be linked to a major abdominal surgery that Kate underwent in January.
Currently, the Princess of Wales is the early stages of treatment, undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
