Lettuce water is the latest TikTok health trend going viral for its sleep-inducing effects.
Apparently drinking lettuce water, by adding boiled water to washed lettuce leaves has the ability to make insomniacs (like yours truly) feel sleepy.
TikToker, Shapla shared a video of her trying the lettuce water before bed, claiming that it helped her feel sleepy, and quite frankly put her to bed. To date, the video has garnered over 1.5 million views.

Since then #lettucewater has garnered a whopping 43.7 million views with plenty of TikTokers adding their own experience and findings to the conversation.
What does science say about lettuce water and sleep?
According to a 2014 review article, the factors promoting sleep in human beings are the functional foods, of which lettuce is one.
