Been having a hectic time lately?
We all go through bouts of self-doubt and negativity which overwhelm us & make us feel like we’ve veered off course. The truth is, you haven’t. There’s a reason you’re reading this.
Perhaps this is the universe signalling that it’s time to take control of your thoughts and create the best outcome for yourself! But how do we recharge after a rough patch? The secret is in the self-affirmation.
Self-affirmations are positive statements that can help rewire your brain, build self-esteem, and create a more positive outlook on life. We’ve put together a 30-day program to help you get back up to meet your best self.
Day 1: set your intentions
You want to embark on your self-affirmation journey by setting clear intentions. Reflect on areas of your life where you want to improve. For example, gaining self-confidence, experiencing more self-love, or achieving personal goals. Write down a few specific affirmations that align with these intentions.
Day 2-7: morning affirmation rituals
Every morning for the next seven days, take a few moments to recite your chosen affirmations out loud or in your mind. Do this however you please, whether it’s standing in front of a mirror or strolling through the garden. Repeat your affirmations several times, allowing their positive energy to sink into your subconscious mind.
For example, “I am confident in my abilities to xxx,” or “I am worthy of love and success.”
Day 8-14: written affirmations
This week, write down your affirmations on sticky notes or index cards. Place them in visible locations such as your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, or desk. Throughout the day, read and repeat the affirmations whenever you see them. This constant reinforcement will help reinforce positive thoughts and reshape your beliefs about yourself.
Day 15-21: gratitude affirmations
Gratitude is a powerful practice that complements self-affirmations. This week, you should take a moment each day to reflect on things you are grateful for. Combine gratitude with affirmations by saying, “I am grateful for my supportive friends, and I affirm that I attract positive relationships into my life.”
Day 22-28: affirmations for challenging situations
In this phase, focus on creating affirmations that empower you during challenging situations. Identify areas in your life where you often feel insecure or face obstacles. Develop affirmations that counteract those negative thoughts and beliefs. For example, “I am capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes my way” or “I am strong, and I embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.”
Day 29-30: reflection and celebration
As your 30-day self-affirmation challenge comes to a close, take time to reflect on your journey. Notice any positive changes in your mindset, self-esteem, or overall outlook on life. Celebrate your progress and acknowledge the effort you’ve put into this challenge. Consider continuing the practice of self-affirmations as a lifelong habit for ongoing personal growth and empowerment.
