Harvey Weinstein has added more time to his 23-year sentence after being found guilty of rape and other sex crimes.
The 70-year-old infamous producer who is now associated with everything wrong with Hollywood was already found guilty of rape and sexual assault two years prior. The recent hearing took place yesterday and lay bare his other attacks which, for years, went unknown to the public.
According to Reuters, Weinstein was found guilty of rape and two other sexual assault counts by a jury in Los Angeles. The other assaults included “oral copulation and sexual penetration by a foreign object” upon one ‘Jane Doe 1’.
There were also charges heard in the trial by other women, but the jury did not reach a verdict, including allegations by Jennifer Sibel Newsom.
What hope came out of Weinstein’s hideous reign for the victims, was reflected by the women who turned the traumatic narrative into one of courage, exposure and justice. No woman in Hollywood or beyond, should again have the wool pulled over their eyes in the ‘industry’s’ power scripts, dynamics and manipulative crimes, as had been the case for so many years. The #MeToo movement was not just a hashtag for shared pain. It was and is a missile, firing back at all those who said “no one will believe you.”
