My all-black fashion philosophy is simple, when I see it and I love it – I buy it! No matter the season. From finding more winter gems to stocking up for the warmer seasons to come, these are the wardrobe pieces I am loving at the moment, writes Fashion Editor, Amy-Lee Steenkamp.
1. It’s a skirt situation
Skirts might just be one of the most versatile pieces you can have in your wardrobe. Whether it’s a tailored pencil skirt for a polished office look, a flowy maxi skirt for a causal afternoon brunch, or a trendy A-line skirt as a weekend staple – the right skirt can adapt to any occasion.
My current pick is the classic pleated skirt. Its versatility allows me to mix and match with various tops, from sleek blouses to cozy sweaters. I love the endless outfit combinations and styling possibilities that work, from day to night. It’s definitely the item I reach for first, especially on days where dressing fatigue hits.
Style tip: Ensure your pleated skirt is high waisted and draped down just above the ankle. This leave room to choose any shoe form a sneaker to an ankle length boot.
I really enjoy elevating the look with accessories like belts or jewellery , making it an essential component for both creating a cohesive wardrobe and expressing personal style.
2. Cowboy chic
Just when I think my seasonal boot collection is complete, I spot the perfect ankle cowboy boot. My inner cowgirl screamed “Yeehaw!”
While I often struggle with long-length boots not working with the natural curves of my calves, a good ankle boot fixes everything. Versatility is the name of the game when it comes to my wardrobe, and it should be yours, too. An ankle boot is essential as it can be worn with almost anything.
Happy shopping…
