Celebrated at Affleck’s lavish estate in Georgia (home-wedding but make it glamourous) the affair was deemed to be filled with classic magic.
Some of the most magical elements beyond the romance of it all, were easily JLo’s wedding dresses. Dresses? Yes, a trio of them. Not to mention one of the most notable features JLo adorned on her wedding day –a 20-foot (around 6 meters) veil.
JLo has shared the official first pictures of her gowns, via On The JLo, and the full repertoire of attire is nothing short of bespoke elegance.
“The dresses were dreamy, thank you Ralph Lauren,” JLo shared.
The Leo gown
The mermaid-styled gown emulates a gorgeous paradox between sleek and airy. Given that JLo is a Leo, the dress captured her stylistic essence perfectly.
Leos stand tall as a sign of courage and authenticity, and they take great pride in standing out (their way). Ruled by the heart and sun, Leos are rays of light that also like a little flair.
The feathered/ruffled ends of the dress exude all the flair on JLo’s first dress, balancing out the more conservative turtleneck design.
According to Vogue, Over 1,000 handkerchiefs and 500 meters of fabric were cut into ruffles to create the look.
As for the open back, the look couldn’t have been more figuratively (or literally) fitting, given that Leo is also ruled by the spine.
Perfect with pearls
For the reception, JLo swapped the ruffles for pearls and Swarovski crystals in the thousands.
Thirty artisans are believed to have spent 700 hours hand-embroidering the accents to the gown according to Lauren, creating a look that essentially had ‘elegance’ written all over it.
Dubbed a ‘chandelier pearl gown’ the “sleek mermaid silhoutte” was bold in a classic way, emulating femininity.
The neckline of note
As for her final gown, an almost plunging keyhole neckline took centre stage, accented with Swarovski crystals.
The mermaid-dress theme still reigned supreme, though the final look was almost like the last layer beneath the ruffless and pearls revealing the bride in her simplest element. T
his look had J-Lo captured in a hood-like veil (an organza overlay as Lauren shared) drawing gazes to her stunning face and features.
