It’s been over a year since South Africans were heartbroken after news broke that one of the most familiar faces on television, the silver screen and in theatres, Shaleen Surtie-Richards had passed away.
The actress, widely loved and known for stirring warm laughter in our country, was found dead in a guest house in Cape Town on 7 June 2021.
However, we’ll soon get to see Surtie-Richards doing what she loved most once again, a nod to the announcement of her upcoming posthumous film.
Set to feature a South African cast of 50 showstoppers, the comedy, Who’s My Daddy will see Surtie-Richard’s final performance as Channel24 shares.
The plot is premised around the search for the father of an amateur entertainer (Sans Moonsamy) who teams up with two other characters in his comedic search.
Said trio will see Moonsamy star alongside Alfred Ntombela, an ‘effervescent’ entertainment agent, and social media star Nadia Jaftha, who plays journalist Emma Wood.
Set to have all of us giggling (and maybe tearing up when we see Surtie-Richards final performance) Who’s My Daddy will premiere at cinemas nationwide on 2 September.
