The person who stands on the hill in their beliefs about soulmates will love this story.
We all know a couple who are so in synch; they’re basically the boyband without Justin Timberlake.
They talk in the same tones, mimic similar mannerisms and finish each other’s sentences in matching sneakers, while the rest of us wonder if we’re part of a skit.
If you thought no two beings could possibly be any more in tune than the pair you know, Bee Nichols and James Kavanagh are giving synched-up duos a run for their money.
After a relationship paved with chance encounters, synchronicities and a romantic plot that Hollywood executives are undoubtedly eyeing, Nichols and Kavanagh decided to tie the knot. That is, they both preplanned to propose at the same time. And yes, their outfits matched, down to their beanies and nails.
I don’t know much about soulmates, but we had the same idea and wore matching hats. pic.twitter.com/tE1rCffZhH

The snapshot announcement quickly went viral, inspiring Nichols to share the moment’s full story.
The double proposal explained
According to Nichols, the pair had decided to take the next step in their relationship a few months prior. However, they hadn’t officially gotten engaged nor picked a time to do so.
The two were as smitten with the idea of moving forward as they were with each other, even opting to pick out a thrifted ring for the anticipated ‘I do’ prelude, which they discussed would be in the following year.
For Nichols’ 29th birthday, the two went to snow-drenched Latvia in December. This was where ideas of a proposal shrouded in festive magic and snowflakes blossomed for the bride-to-be. Why not seize the moment when it couldn’t be any more picturesque, after all?
Nichols’ planned a dog sledding excursion where a walk through the forest was organised, followed by a trip up an observation tower; the setting for the big ask.
“When we got up there, I was so nervous. It was so busy. I almost pulled out. But James was being very really quiet as well,” Nichols shared. Little did either of the two know they had the same idea in mind.
“I got down on one knee and then James also pulled out a ring box and got down on one knee as well. So we ended up proposing at the same time!”
Nichols’ shared that a man had taken pictures of the special moment—surprise, joy, matching beanies and all—which similarly wasn’t planned.
According to BBC, the couple had actually gone to primary school together in Hertfordshire and had mutual friends during university, but only kicked off romantically after a chance meeting during the most unlikely time of all— lockdown.
The story has since gotten over 4.4 million views.
Someone call Hallmark—this is a Christmas film just waiting to happen.
