South African music artist Black Coffee (Nkosinathi Maphumulo) has been involved in a severe accident on a flight en route to his scheduled show in Mar Del Plata in Argentina.
A statement released on Black Coffee’s social media on Wednesday 10 January confirmed that the South African artist was involved in a severe accident caused by “unforeseen complications” while on a flight en route to his next tour destination to Argentina.
The statement reads:
“Black Coffee was involved in a severe travel accident on a flight en route to his scheduled show in Mar Del Plata. The incident resulted in unforeseen complications and left him with some injuries.”
The statement goes on to say that the artist, who spent the better part of 2023 touring the globe for his music, is with loved ones, and is receiving the best possible medical care.
“We can confirm that he is receiving the best possible medical attention and is surrounded by a supportive family and team.”
The statement concludes:
“Despite the challenges presented, Black Coffee is optimistic and recovering well! He looks forward to being back with you all very soon.”
