The announcement of The Crown’s final season has had enthusiasts everywhere hot on its trail, attempting to figure out as much as possible in emotional preparation for the final run.
While Season 5 is only premiering in November after a paused wrap-up in honour of Queen Elizabeth’s passing, producers have shared that it won’t be the last as initially thought. Season 6 was the outcome of a decision to split the final tellings to make space for a more in-depth closing.
Which royal era will season 6 focus on?
The finale is set to see the 90s and 2000s as the royal era in focus. The question on everyone’s minds is whether Princess Diana’s death will be portrayed. Peter Morgan (the show’s creator) cleared up speculations, sharing that the crash that broke hearts around the world, will not be shown.
A runup to her passing may be depicted as well as the aftermath; which members on the production indicated were still dreaded moments.
Who will join the cast?
As for other speculations surrounding whether Prince William and Kate Middleton will be portrayed, confirmation has come that actors have already been cast.
The BBC shares that Meg Bellamy will encompass Kate, while Ed McVey and Rufus Kampa will share the role of Will; Kampa for the Prince’s younger years and McVey for Prince William’s twenties.
