It’s been just over a month since JLo and Ben tied the knot (the first time). In her latest newsletter, titled ‘This is heaven. Right Here. We’re in it now’, JLo reflects on moments from the newlyweds’ lavish at-home ceremony, at Ben Affleck’s Georgia Estate in late August.

As most weddings go, the day came with a unique string of hurdles to work through. According to Vanity Fair “the couple were initially worried about the weather on the big day as “It had rained at sunset every day that week.”
JLo shared further: “everyone was worried about the heat, the aptly named ‘love bugs,’ the details, would the guests all arrive on time, etc.—not to mention the thunder and lightning that arrived almost on cue each day at the exact time the ceremony was supposed to start that Saturday. Oh, and all of us caught a stomach bug and were recuperating ’til late in the week, that, and along with a few other unexpected setbacks, had all the makings of a doozie of a wedding weekend.”

In addition to all the doozies, a guest at Bennifer’s wedding took the opportunity to record a private moment during the couple’s ceremony. The clip reveals J-Lo passionately serenading Affleck with backup dancers in tow. After the ceremony, the clip quickly spread via tabloids and fan accounts.

In one fan account’s post of the clip on Instagram, JLo commented “This was taken without permission. Period. And whoever did it took advantage of our private moment…I don’t know where you all are getting it from bc we had NDAs and asked everyone to not share anything from our wedding. That is our choice to share.”
JLo added, “Anything I put out private is OnTheJLO and it’s to share w my fans. Which I will do when I am ready to. This was stolen without our consent and sold for money. Thank you for caring I love you guys.”
Despite the setbacks, JLo also detailed the most magical moments of their ceremony, in her most recent newsletter.
“At six forty-five, Saturday, August twentieth, the sun broke free and cast its rays like little diamonds dancing across the river behind the makeshift altar in our backyard. The sky was clear blue, and distant clouds of pure white held fast in the sky. As the sun set behind the live oaks draped in Spanish moss, a warm breeze swept over the lawn where our closest family and friends sat and, at long-last, I started my walk down the stairs that would become the aisle that would lead me toward the rest of my life. Ahhhhh…it was actually happening…”
“The day after we all gathered for a yummy brunch by the lake…the vibes were down-home, rustic country-chic.”
JLo ends off by saying “Years ago, we had no idea the road ahead would mean navigating so many labyrinths and hold so many surprises, blessings, and delights. It all culminated in this moment, one of the most perfect of our lives. We couldn’t have been happier. I wish all of you the same kind of happiness…the hard-earned kind that’s all the sweeter for the journey that came before it. We love you guys …forever…”
