South Africa’s songstress sweetheart, Karin Kortje, and the recently established Karin Kortje Foundation will host the inaugural Carols in July musical celebration on 20 July 2024 at Missio Dei Auditorium in Bellville.
Welcome the joy and warmth of Christmas into the cold winter months, with the joyous sound of Christmas carols, all against the backdrop of twinkling lights. “Our Christmas in July event is not only about celebrating the holiday spirit out of season but also about giving young talent a platform to shine,” said Kortje.
The lineup for the event includes a host of Cape Town’s favourites, such as Karin Kortje herself, former Idols winner Sasha-Lee Davids; and singer and TV presenter Elwira Standili. Just off the back of Youth Month, Kortje’s mission to empower young artists continues. “We believe in nurturing the next generation of performers and providing them with opportunities to grow,” explains Kortje. Young, emerging artists such as Andrea Fortuin, Loren Erasmus and Talitha Luiters will also be taking the stage to showcase their talent and skill. The Carols in July event will be hosted by Arendsvlei actress, Jolene Martin.

“It’s also a special moment for us as we approach Women’s Month, celebrating the strength and talent of our all-female group,” says Kortje.
Expect a mesmerizing mix of traditional and contemporary Christmas music. “We’re covering a range of Christmas music, from the classics to more modern tunes,” Kortje noted.
