Adele’s much-anticipated new single, ‘Easy on Me’ and video are here!
The heartfelt track is the lead single to the singer’s upcoming fourth studio album, 30, which is due on 19 November 2021.
In an Instagram post shared earlier this month, Adele described how writing this album helped her rebuild after her divorce in 2019.
“I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones … I’ve painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart since then and this album narrates it,” she shared.
In ‘Easy on Me’, Adele reflects on her decision to leave her marriage, while asking for her son and ex-husband’s understanding.
The video seems to pay homage to her 2015 video for ‘Hello’ in which she is seen arriving at a country house. This time, she is seen packing up and driving away – symbolising the closing of that difficult chapter of her life.
