Earlier this week, local actor Siv Ngesi took to Instagram to share a photo of Springboks captain Siya Kolisi and his six-year-old daughter, Keziah, sharing a tearful hug after a stressful but successful semi-final game against England on Saturday.
On Sunday, Ngesi took to Instagram posting a picture that expressed more than words could, celebrating the Springboks’ win against England.
In the picture, we see a tearful Keziah Kolisi hugging her dad, Siya, after the Springboks had just secured their spot in the Rugby World Cup finals for 2023.
Siv aptly captioned his post:
“What it means to over 60 million South Africans! ❤️❤️”
Commenters on the post shared the sentiment, unloading after what was one of the most stressful games for South Africa to watch this season.
Trailing by nine points in the last 10 minutes of the game, the Springboks clawed their way back into the match, beat England, and made it through to the Rugby World Cup finals against New Zealand this coming weekend.
Tense up until the very end, the major win led South Africans to celebrating in high spirits all around the globe. The energy was palpable, despite the biggest match still looming ahead.
The win came as a great relief to the supportive partners and families of the nation’s champs, who also took to socials to share their pride and gratitude after the tense semi-final.

The photograph of Keziah tearfully embracing her dad after the game says it all, though. Commenters on Siv’s post wrote:
