What is better than a pyjama party that will double up as an educational experience on our intimate bits?
In the month of August, which also happens to be Women’s Month in South Africa, the team at Woman’s Warehouse will be hosting an intimate health workshop, and since it’s Winter in Mzansi, you can don your cosy pyjamas to the event.
Seeing that it will be quite an intimate experience, here’s what you need to know about the My V and Me Girl’s Night Out:
Who are the women behind Woman’s Warehouse?
The executive team consists of founder, Nadine Clevely; and directors, Gin McLellan and Ashley Adonis.
Nadine literally had a dream of creating Woman’s Warehouse and has worked with Ashley for a number of years. Ashley is a determined self-starter that has worked her way up the ranks from receptionist to director in two companies.
Gin visited Woman’s Warehouse and heeded the call for her to join the team. She was intuitively guided to be a part of the team and these three women have committed to educating and empowering young girls and women together.
What is Woman’s Warehouse?
Women’s Warehouse is a workshop-based organization with 5 pillars:
- Safety – with the purpose of fighting gender-based violence, the safety pillar offers workshops that equip women with the tools they need to protect themselves from hijacking or sexual assault. They also tackle relationships and abuse and empower women to be able to see the red flags early on, how to get out and offer tools to support women even after they have left an abusive situation.
- DIY – These workshops are catered to single women and help them with practical fixes in their homes like fixing a leaking tap, which tools to use for minor renovations, etc.
- Automotive – These workshops are aimed at equipping women with the knowledge and know-how when it comes to cars. We’ve heard it a million times how mechanics and other car technicians talk down to women and overcharge them, simply because they’re women and we lack the knowledge to know better. They tackle how to change a tyre, how to replace filters and even how to jumpstart a car.
- Household – These workshops tackle the work/life balance, ensuring that women avoid burnout from running households and being overworked.
- Intimate health – creating a space for women to feel safe and discuss sexual health, with the guidance of seasoned professionals.
The My V and Me PJ Party
The My V and Me PJ Party is under the intimate health pillar and invites women to show up in their pyjamas, in order for them to feel comfortable and relaxed.
The night offers a 3-course meal, entertainment, comedy, and a space for women to share their stories.
Woman’s Warehouse has partnered with Dr Elna Rudolph, the President of the World Association for Sexual Heath, the founder of My Sexual Health, and the Executive Board Member and Director of the South African Sexual Health Association (SASHA) to share her expertise and help to guide women on their journeys.
