Every so often, Woolies brings us another show-stopping treat that makes us say, “they’ve tempted us again.”
Last year the spotlight was on the ‘Chuckles ice cream’, which some called the ‘saving grace of 2021’. Earlier this year, South Africans were invited to indulge in the ‘Malva Milk Tart Cascading Cake’, a cake so gorgeous we’re surprised Woolies’ didn’t frame a picture of it to hang in every store.
The newest treat on the block pays homage to Chuckles and chocolate mousse – two iconic sweet spots Woolworths has served the nation with.
Dubbed ‘Chucklete Mousse’ by Twitter user @kimberleydujour, the newbie incorporates cream, cocoa, malt and milk chocolate shavings.

Social media users have already stamped this product with approval which comes as little surprise. Add Chuckles to any dessert and you’ve got a recipe for success, given Chuckle’s borderline cult following.
Did the inspiration come from Twitter?
In August, Twitter user @LailaManie shared that although she isn’t a Chuckles enthusiast; Chuckles mousse, chocolate banana bread and a Chuckles spread should all have a place on the retailer’s shelves to appease the malt-loving community.
